BLOG BASICS
This blogspot.com account was created in April 2003. The blog was named after my shorter name "minuei", which i gave myself. Not long after, http://minuei.blogspot.com/ was neglected as I wasn't interested in creating a blog site for myself. I started spending my time on graphics and learnt a lot about coding and layouts. About two years later [2005], I decided to pick up where I left off in my blog account and start blogging again. (^_^)

Movie: 10 Promises To My Dog

The new Friday timetable is jam packed with tutorials and Chemistry practical. And yes... tutorials and Chemistry practical only. No lectures. Quite sadded actually. But the worse thing is that all lessons are 1.5 hours except for Maths tutorial which is only 1 hour. And to top it all up, there are only two half an hour breaks for the whole day. But since the class gets released at 2:30PM, I guess everything is kinda alright.

Friday timetable:
0800 - 0900 Maths Tutorial
0900 - 0930 break
0930 - 1100 Chemistry Practical
1100 - 1130 break
1130 - 1300 Physics Tutorial
1300 - 1430 GP Tutorial

The classroom had started to feel really cold after 1:15PM during Physics tutorial. Most of us were like trying to get warmth by rubbing our hands. As usual, Mr Damien Le was cracking lame jokes which were really "cold" and this kinda added on to the "coldness". Then he introduced us to this (saddistic) picture book called "The Rabbit Who Searches Death" for some entertainment during the lesson...

After that, it was GP tutorial. Then, the usual people like Ivan, Leon and Raymond would crap a little during lesson. Near the end of the lesson, we got to watch an episode of CSI coz we were having a lesson that has relation to crime and investigation. However, we didn't get to finish watching due to time constraints and so we would continue watching it in the next GP tutorial.

Afterwards, I to the went concourse to finish writing the Chemistry Practical report with most of the class as we had to hand it in before the end of the day. Then, I proceeded to Jurong Point(JP) with Hui Yi to watch a movie.

When we got to the ticket counter, Hui Yi and I were deciding between watching Wanted and 10 Promises To My Dog. We decided to go watch 10 Promises To My Dog in the end coz I was thinking that it might end screening soon...

10 Promises To My Dog is quite a nice movie actually. The dog was super cute when it was a puppy. Its quite sad in the end though. However, I feel that all the publicity it has gotten to inform the public that it is a super nice movie is a little too exaggerated. But, it is still undoubtedly a good movie to watch. I didn't feel bored at all in the middle of watching it. The movie also kinda addresses family/social problems like career-minded parents and blah blah. Also, I think dog lovers might like this movie.

Sypnosis of 10 Promises To My Dog:

The film begins with a flash-back when 14-year-old Akari, an only child, yearns for a companion since her workaholic father and ailing(sick) mother have little time to spend with her. She soon finds solace in a golden retriever puppy, which wanders into her backyard one day.

Before adopting the puppy, young Akari’s mother requires her to make 10 promises to her dog, which she names ‘Socks’, pledging to love and care for her unswervingly. However, as time goes by, Akari (Lena Tanaka) matures into a young lady of aspirations and her interests caused her feelings to slowly shift away from Socks.

The pair who used to be inseparable, drift apart as Akari moves to a larger city in pursuit of her career, leaving Socks behind.

As a series of events occur, Akari is reminded of the promises that she had made to her mother and Socks. By this time however, Socks is no longer a young, energetic puppy and the question lies: is there enough time for Akari to redeem herself and fulfill the lifelong promises that she had made 10 years ago?

After the movie, Hui Yi and I walked around. Then, we happened to walk past Cards n Such and I suddenly remembered that Kai Ting was working there today. So, I popped in Cards n Such for a visit and had a nice, humorous and hearty chat with Kai Ting and the auntie who was working with her for around 40 minutes before leaving for the Boon Lay interchange and taking bus 180 home.

An Early 17th Birthday For Chean Fei

08S28 girls played soccer against 08S27 girls for this morning's Physical Conditioning(PC) lesson. It was quite funny actually. Then, most of the game was a two-man-show coz most of us(the S28 girls) were quite slack...

Anyway, all of us were worrying about our Economics(Econs) lecture test - that would be taking place half an hour after PC - during PC.........

After PC, we went for our 30 minute break and then proceeded for the Econs lecture test at LT5......................

Then, I started to focus my mind on planning Chean Fei's birthday celebration that was decided to take place after school so that Yi Xuan, Shenn, Alina, Denise, Nicholas, Christopher, Jacky and some others can attend it.

It was actually an impromptu decision that I made with Rui Yi in the morning to celebrate Chean Fei's birthday today although her actual birthday is on Saturday. The reason for it is coz she is booked for the next two days by school work and some of her other friends that she met in IJC during her PAE days.

So, I was more or less racking my brains to plan for the celebrations. And then there was some kind of mistake made on the time that Chean Fei ended her lessons so I had to ask Nicholas to stall her until 5PM where the celebrations would start. Then, a stupid excuse that Jacky wanted to meet us at 5PM after his PW lecture was made to make her stay. LOL. But, even with the excuse, she still wanted to leave. Luckily, Jacky and Nicholas helped convince her to stay.

Then, I quickly went out of school at around 4:10PM to buy Chean Fei's cake. I wanted to go JP with Joanne to buy the cake initially but then after meeting Alina at the bus stop, I decided to go the cake shop called San Anna that is in the market opposite if Hua Yi/JJ to buy the cake. Coz Joanne had to go JP, so we parted at the bus stop and then Alina accompanied me to buy the cake.

We arrived at the shop then we saw some normal cakes. But since Chean Fei likes calling herself Kid Face, I decided that a kid's cake would suit her. So, I bought one with an elmo design on it. LOL. XD Then, Alina and I walked back to JJ and then waited for everyone to go meet up with Nicholas(who was with Chean Fei) in the canteen before bringing the cake to them.

Taken when I was camping/waiting at the concourse with Yi Xuan, Alina and Denise for the rest to meet Nicholas and Chean Fei in the canteen.

The cake box.

Chean Fei sliced Elmo into half.

Mr Leow - who was in the vicinity when we had the celebrations - came to our table and commented that we had cut the cake very nicely as compared to some other birthday cakes he had seen in JJ. LOL. =D

Chean Fei kena thrown whipped cream by Jacky and Nicholas.

The remains of the cake. Haha. The guys had stuffed themselves with the cake coz the girls ate a little and didn't want to eat anymore.

Then, the celebrations ended and we packed up. Chean Fei wanted to go home badly to study for her Geography common test that will take place tommorow. So, Chean Fei, Jacky and I left first.

Then Jacky was super sad that it was already past 6PM coz he wanted to go home and watch Da Chang Jin(The Jewel In The Palace) which airs on Channel U at 6PM on weekdays. LOL. Then Chean Fei was like: "Why you watch that kind of lame show?". XD

Today was quite a long day......
